Orange County
Greater OrlandoFlorida
A small historic settlement in southwest Orange County, surrounded by lakes and larger residential parcels between Windermere and Ocoee.
Gotha was founded in the nineteenth century by German settlers and kept a village scale that the surrounding growth never absorbed: narrow lanes, mature oaks, a historic cemetery and a school at its centre.
Between Windermere, Ocoee and MetroWest, near Hempel Avenue and SR-408 access.
Here is what I'd tell you about daily life: quiet and residential; retail and services are in the neighbouring areas rather than inside the village.
Something worth watching: custom homes on individual lots; there is no room for large phases.
For getting around, here is what you should know: car-based, with SR-408 and the Turnpike reached through neighbouring roads.

The area
Horse pastures and packing-house history tucked west of the city lakes.
Real life here
A slow, village-scale week: quiet lanes under mature oaks, a stop at Yellow Dog Eats for a casual meal, and errands run in neighbouring Windermere or Ocoee since the village itself has almost no commercial space of its own.
Yellow Dog Eats, in the historic village core, is the local landmark; everything else, supermarkets, chains, a wider restaurant selection, means a short drive to Windermere, Ocoee or MetroWest.
There is very little commercial infrastructure inside Gotha itself; groceries, pharmacies and clinics are reached in the surrounding communities.
The quiet, tree-covered streets change little with the seasons beyond the usual summer storms; well-and-septic parcels are worth checking before any major landscaping project.

Real indicators
These numbers are published per county, not per neighbourhood or community. They show the direction of the market around this area, they do not estimate the price of a specific home.
The midpoint asking price of homes listed across the whole county that month. It is what sellers ask, not what buyers pay, and a county is far larger than a single community, a specific neighbourhood can sit well above or below it.

Asking price divided by interior area, at the county midpoint. It travels better between areas than a total price because it partly removes house size from the comparison, but it still ignores lot, age, finish level and view.
